You can expect to see certain highlights on this tour, but a detailed itinerary can also be seen as a spoiler! We like to keep some of the best bits a surprise so you can really immerse yourself in the experience.
Our adventures are carefully planned, but our itinerary is flexible by necessity. That’s because we don’t always know how long a group will take to pass through river crossings and deep sand, for example, so we have different camp sites up our sleeve depending on progress.
Check out our highlights pages for information on some of the key places we’ll visit along the way, but prepare to be awestruck by the sheer beauty of the Country we’ll travel through and stay in. Most likely, you’ll camp on the rocky, natural flagstones at ‘Moon’ and in scenic bush clearings above the Durack and Berkeley rivers, but always a safe distance from waterways where the odd saltwater croc might be lurking.
Highlights of the Oombi Track adventure include visits to King George Falls, Oomari and Oombulgurri. For most of the tour you will be moving to a different site each day, so you’ll become expert at setting up and packing up in between some incredible daily journeys through this ancient landscape. On the other hand, things won’t always go according to plan. You’ll become accustomed to the concept of ‘Kimberley time’ and learn to embrace it.
