With everything from sand, mud, deep river crossings and rocky ascents, you’ll be able to test your skills, rig and stamina! Although the going is slow, the Oombi Track is the most rugged 4WD experience in Australia.
The track takes you through incredibly diverse terrains, from open wetlands to leafy pandanus forests evocative of ancient Gondwanaland; climbing rocky jump-ups and navigating deep river crossings. While the conditions vary depending on the timing of your tour, there are numerous opportunities to challenge both you and your vehicle throughout the dry season (May to September)…all with the expert guidance of Ronnie or Colin, who have an intimate knowledge of the track under all conditions.
